'TIME TO GO!' DEMO, MANCHESTER

Anti-war protest coincides with Labour Party conference, 23 September 2006

This demonstration was organised by the Stop The War Coalition. Planned weeks ahead already, and widely publicised, it has drawn tens of thousands of anti-war protesters to Manchester -- but well short of the 100 thousand that Stop The War wished for. Various speakers entertained the crowd, but veteran Tony Benn was interrupted by human rights activist Reza Moradi, who staged a counter-protest. For more info on that incident, see this page.
