How To Produce Your Own Giant Image Frames

Large picture frames are relatively costly and it is far easier to make your own picture frame. One does not have to have artistic talents only imaginations as well all have inherent creative skills. The first thing you need to do is take measurements of the print you want to frame.

Once you have got the measurements you then need to add on approximately 1 extra inch all round which will allow for the background sheet. You will also need to purchase some framing tacks, framers masking tape, firm cardboard backing and non reflective glass. You will also need hooks and a chain so that you can hang the picture up.

Massive image frames are serious therefore it would be wise to buy lightweight materials to create the frame such as aluminum or even even plastic though you’ll get wood that’s not excessively heavy. One will now obtain interlocking frames which are very straightforward to assemble.

When buying the glass you need to choose the thinnest glass. Once you have got obtained all the bits and pieces you would like you’ll be able to then begin to border your picture. Firstly lay the image on the backing board making certain it straight you’ll use an adhesive on each corner to form certain the image does not move.

When the picture is secure you then place the glass over the picture take interlocking frames and slide one in every of the longest side pieces initial and slide it between the board and glass then do the high and bottom and eventually slide the other piece on. Your image frame is currently prepared for hanging.

When hanging giant image frames you need to form sure the wire is sturdy enough and that the clips are placed securely or else your picture frame will fall. Get someone to help you suspend the picture.

Three Methods To Spruce Up Your Home For the Holidays

With the winter months on their way it is time to begin thinking about all the guests you’re going to have in your home. We often spend all of the summer months outside of our houses and many times do not pay attention to our home’s interior until it gets colder outside. Now is the perfect time to spruce up your home’s interior with some easy design tips that will make your guests think you bought a new house! Here are three clever plans:

Paint A Room: You can totally change the feel of any room with a new coat of paint. Paint can set the mood of a room in many different ways. A darker paint color can add warmth while a brighter color can make a room feel larger. Painting tools and paint are surprisingly affordable these days and applying paint is one of the easiest ways you can improve your home.

Hang Some Shelves: Hanging shelves, artwork, rugs or any other decorative items on a wall is a great way to energize a room. Before mounting anything too big on a wall you may want to learn how to find wall studs that can hold up the weight of the item you’re hanging. You might want to think of the walls of your home as an empty canvas, just waiting to be filled.

Change Lighting: It’s hard to deny that lighting makes a big difference in any interior space. Bright lighting might make people feel more alert while darker lights can provide a feeling of comfort and calmness. Lighting can come in many forms from table lamps to floor lamps to track lighting. If you already have lighting in place then you can simply exchange your old wall lights with new ones.

As you can see, a few simple minor home upgrades like these can turn a boring room into one of the most exciting parts of your home. With just a little time and an equal amount of effort you can completely change the living space in your home. None of the above interior design projects are very hard to finish for a do-it-yourself homeowner who is able to use a few basic tools.

Scanning the world of the world wide web, I came across an astonishing artist known as Donalee Houston. Simply amazed by her artistic talents I could not help devote a lot of my attention to her works and unique styles.

Donalee is talented in more than one area of design, which is most likely what has enabled her to survive so successfully in the darker days of the forever-falling economy. Donaless has trained herself really well using the traditional methods of traditional and photo illustration, also keep her children illustrations second to none in her field. So I guess freelance work is not a rarity for all, as Donalee has proved over the years.

Creating such friendly art for the young and old, every eye can appreciate the forthcoming beauty of her art and there is no denying how talent she is. Her style is strong and focused, and I have never come across anything quite just like it yet. Many love the use of her colours, and the fine detail of her work, most of her work looks as if the painting was actually taken from life itself.

The favourite of her artistic works is known as the Standing Bear, Ponca Chief. Although Donalee is a digital designer she has still kept her skill set in Traditional artist methods at the top of her game, a rare talent for one to possess in this day and age.

If you were to familiarize yourself with the works of Donalee you would quickly notice that she gets the majority of her inspiration from the facial expressions of people, young and old and of each and every nation and race. So there will be no end to the fascinating illustrations of Donalee, with an endless supply of inspiration in her path.

Painting is one of Donalee’s favourite pass times, as she believes that one does not have to be artistically skilled to paint and idea, but to paint is a means of expressing ones true feelings and exploring the endless stream of imagination.

What Do You Consider Art?

Art or the phrase abstract art painting as defined by the dictionary is more of a form or an act of sorts. It is also defined as “a conscious esthetically meaningful arrangement of elements.” This definition is very confusing and if you pay close attention really does not give you much of a definition. In order to clear up some of the confusion lets do an analysis of the definitions and keywords.

Conscious the first word to be examined literally means intentional. The second word esthetically refers to something that is beautiful. The third and most impactful word is elements which is translated as an entity of sorts. When taking these three interpretations into consideration we can now translate the definition a bit further in saying that art is executed deliberately, that art can be organized in a particular manner, and that after looking closely there is some sense of beauty to it. Beauty is another word that can be interpreted in many different ways because it can be used to define anything, a time period, a noun, or even an act. So here there is a conscious effort to unveil the beauty in something.

There are many art authors who similarly recognize three major characteristics in works of art. Although some of these authors observe more we will only go over 4 of them for now.

First and foremost the most obvious characteristic of art is that it is made by men and also that it is intentional. Whatever the medium be it painting, sculpture, film, dance, or theatre we know that art is created for the purpose of being a type of art. It is created from something (elements) be it paint, words, waves of sound and all formed through expression.

Another characteristic of art is that these works of art always exhibit the artists feelings, thoughts, and attitudes. Through these compositions expressions are then able to be communicated and instilled into the general public.

The third and most exciting characteristic of art is that it is original. Every piece or play or song that has ever been created is done from scratch, it is the result of the culmination of experiences that artist has had in their lives. Artists have the ability to take things apart, then take those pieces and reform them into something new.

In order for something to be considered an artwork means that the general public has to accept that it is art in the first place. In other words, people have to believe art is art to make it art. Art does not require that it be appreciated, it can even be considered disgraceful as long as society recognizes it as art.

Eastern Symbolism Meanings

The set of Chinese symbols consists of an vast number of symbols that goes over the count of eighty thousand. This variety includes all Chinese characters, signs and alphabets that have been used for thousands of years. With regards to the Chinese symbols per se, their use has become highly restricted in modern times.

Since the Chinese language has evolved over time the application of the symbols has declined. Nevertheless the symbols serve another purpose and that is related to the arts. The physical form of the ancient Chinese symbols seems to have a timeless aesthetic appeal which has earned them world wide fame.

The use of the Chinese symbols in China is as popular as ever. You can see them in many places particularly in expressions of art and architecture. The Chinese people are using these symbols to mark their products like kitchenware etc. There is another aim to these symbols which are related to superstition which is still followed in Chinese culture.

Whatever may be the meaning the physical formation of the traditional symbols from China has special artistic appeal. But when you go to the depth of these symbols you will find that they represent great philosophies which go back in time and are still in use.

Talking of the Chinese symbol you should be aware that these symbols cover a vast area which includes both positive as well as negative meanings. Traditionally the Chinese trust that the strong power of the positive symbols will attract good luck. So if they have positive symbols in their life only good things will happen.

The truth of the matter will depend entirely on what you believe and the faith you have on the Chinese symbols. Even today the symbols are valued throughout China for their beauty as well as the power to influence the life of the people by incorporating them.

The traditional symbol of five bats grouped together into one sign express good fortune and is extremely popular. These five bats are taken to show love, longevity, health, wealth and virtue. To make the symbol more powerful it may be represented in red color.

You will find another symbol in many places in modern Chinese society which is the sunset symbol. Sun as Chinese see it is the origin of the Yang energy and has remarkable power.

There are number of ancient legends about the sun which leads the Chinese people to believe in its positive powers. For one it is the basis of all energy and purification. Secondly it produces equilibrium. Because of these deep philosophical aspects sun is given great respect in China.

The Artwork And Career Of Ralf Kunstmann

This Nature, Traditional and Photo Illustrator, Ralf Kunstmann is one of-a-kind in his fields. Looking through his ever-growing artistic online portfolio, you can see where Ralf stands out from some of the other illustrators.

This freelance designer was born in Nuremberg, Germany, where he has been practising his art since’91. He is also a member of the German Designers called Alliance and a member of the Association of Art in Erlangen.

He has developed his skills in photorealism, airbrushing mix-techniques and painting fine colour shades. Perfecting them as a freelancer through years of experience.

Ralf still believes this is an ongoing process that should be learnt more than once as people tend to forget that the design world is ever growing and someone, somewhere always develops a new way of designing.

2003 saw Ralf enter a new form of design. Learning the skills of a putty knife saw him become an Abstract artist. He saw this as an opportunity to do something else he loved and it is popular with the viewers.

He has now formed a new way of designing, a technique which uses painting and photographs in one design. These techniques and skills must be developed side by side so they fit well with each other. It will be easy to identify when something is not right, when it’s taking the photorealism out of the design.

Ralf enjoys spending as much time as possible at his computer developing these techniques and skills even further. But he does not think he will be able to design and illustrate from pencil to paper as he decided to go digital from’98. This has helped him master all the talent he possesses to date.

His clients include well-known companies, such as Marlboro, Boerse Online, Schoeller, Oddset, Connect, Nissan Deutschland, Gerstacker, Bild and many, many more. Do not hesitate to contact Ralf Kunstmann for any information regarding himself or his design work.

Check out Ralf’s work along with other professional strong top great Illustrators and see our home page for new information on Illustration.
