I’ve been selling my own logo design software product in retail stores such as Fry’s Electronics and Office Depot for a few years now.

The boxes each cost (roughly) $3.00 to design. This includes the cardboard, the CD and sleeve, as well as the burning of the disk …and putting in the ‘filler’ to make the box appear strong and sturdy on the shelf.

This is why downloadable software is so profitable. Create it once and sell it multiple times. An eBook or homemade CD as an example. The Retail stores used to be king, but no longer. The Web rules!

It’s harder to market yourself on the net beign that there’s so much competition. However, that’s where your Search Engine Marketing comes in. But that’s a topic for a another article.

Use Software To Create Your Own Logo Design Studio

Every now and then, it’s a good idea to create new graphics for your newsletter, social network club or website. In the past, I’ve personally gone looking for a few new newsletter graphics. I was amazed at the cost of getting these from other designers. I didn’t have a really large budget, I only needed to create a few page header images that I could use on my site and newsletter.

I searched all over the web and looked at the design sites of over two-dozen professional logo-design firms but found nothing even remotely appealing. The built-in graphics tools from such software products like Word or Publisher just didn’t cut it.

What I found, however, was the realization that I could technically be my OWN design studio …with the help of a 3 or four different software products! I could download products like a logo design creator, a business card tool and perhaps some animated logo creation software. And I found the cost to be FAR less than what a designer would charge me.

With the help of these tools, I was able to produce what I needed in about 90 minutes and I was able to get back to work on my newsletter.

These tools gave me unique “look,” to my images since I created them myself. Subtle graphics like large colorful letters using unique fonts. With most of these software products, you’re able to select a starting point (a Template), and experiment with placement or colorization. You can move and place the objects on the canvas anyway you choose. You can replace the existing text with your own company name and even add a slogan to tagline!

When I have a complex document to create, I actually do like using Word templates to get up and running quickly. But when it comes to graphics, a blank PhotoShop canvas is simply too intimidating. Software products such as The Logo Creator is perfect.

When you’re ready to create your images, most of these tools can offer export options like JPG, and PNG output (among other formats).

The software is usually inexpensive, (when compared to what a professional designer may charge you), and the results are terrific. Most of the products are easy to use.
