Freelance Illustration Hungary – Luca Molnar

Over the last 5 or so years, there have been a number of strong, distinctive styles that have captivated many young designers in the industry. The unique mix seen in many of today’s best photo illustrators has become a dominate trend and one that is heavily sought after by employers, commissioners, art directors and art buyers alike.

Many leading design magazines and blogs display new media work which consists of photographic images mixed with vibrant vectors to create a bubbly and energetic mood. This is particularly apparent in the advertising industry and looks set to dictate for the coming years ahead.

I happened to come across one particular artist who I feel represents this style very well. Luca Molnar is a young graphic designer who is currently based in Hungary and operates as a freelancer, doing commissions and projects for a variety of companies.

Luca is busy with a number of projects at the moment and she currently has work with international clients. She is based in Hungary, but deals with clients in the UK, USA and beyond. After taking a look at her portfolio I saw a distinct style emerge and particularly enjoyed viewing her recent works for her latest US clients. She produces logos, stationary, letterheads, posters, adverts web sites etc., so pretty much all areas are covered.

Her work is very smooth and feminine, with a particular focus on females and swirls. This combination creates a very light a enjoyable viewing experience and reminds me of a UK design by the name of Radim Malinic. Her strengths are predominantly with Photoshop, with a touch of Illustrator or similar software to match. Her contemporary style is definitely suited to the music scene and I guess Luca’s musical tastes lean towards the RnB scene.

I’m guessing that most of her work will be in the music industry, as her portfolio leans towards that. She has produced a number of layouts for music artists in the RnB industry, which will inevitably generate more work in that field in future.

She is definitely building up her client base, as she has already worked with the likes of Leah Charles (UK), Coke Art Blog, Optisun (Hungary), Famous Dolls Magazine (Russia), Dorothy Perkins (UK), Shavonn Johnson & Company (USA) and Urban Melodic Entertainment (NewYork). You can contact Luca for any type of commission or freelance contract by visiting any of her profiles online. In years to come she could be one of Europe’s biggest and most reputable female designers.

For All Illustrators, Graphic Designers And Photographers

Many of you guys many be wondering..which is the best site to join, what is cheap ?, what is expensive ?, is free better ? There are many portfolio sites/communities out there and it may take some time to find the right ones for you. Well, it is best to take your time and think about the pros and cons of each one before taking the plunge.

PNW (Premium Network Worldwide) is currently the most affordable creative site of it’s kind which offers quite a lot for a fraction of the price of it’s competitors.

PNW is very unique because it is very easy to upload images and manage your portfolio, with a simple drag & drop type feature to help you to put things in a specific order. They are also taking the limit off the number of portfolios you can add to your profile, so you will be able to add work continually which is great.

If you really are looking for a site that goes beyond the normal, then think about the following. Once your up and running, the on-line team will take some time to send out email campaigns for you to a big database of well known clients. I suppose it makes marketing a lot easier, especially for newcomers who literally spend hours sitting in front of the computer sending out emails to any and everybody. I used to be one of those people, but I think for a low low fee (just $9) per month, you can get that done for you. What is even better than that is the teams new article writing service. This basically means that the on-line PNW team will dedicate some time to write an article about you and send them out to hundreds of article directories. I had the pleasure of checking this out I by typing in ‘Andre Junget’. To my surprise the articles that were written by him showed up at least 8 times on the first page. It made me wonder, hey? I think this could be a serious promotional service here.

When your email shots get sent out, they are done 3-4 times a year, to approximately 1000 contacts per time. I cannot believe other sites are not offering this, I have paid 325 per year for just 20 images in time past!!.

Of course you get the usual video uploads etc, but if your looking for an extra income you can sell your art from your profile page. Or if your are a Twitter fan you can link your activity to your profile for people to be updated. RSS feeds can also be displayed.

If you want to make a little extra cash you can sell your images as digital downloads. You can also write and showcase your blogs, which is useful and keeps people informed.

It is ridiculous how many things are available to subscribers for the money, especially after what I paid previously. If you get chosen for the ‘blog of the month’ award or if you are interviewed, they will send you an Itunes or Amazon gift voucher worth about 10. Other reviews coming soon

Check out PNW if you love illustrators or if you really like illustration.

How Can We Make Better Use Of Our Time

As freelancers it is very important for us to acquire good management skills. A good management system is important for us, as it will over time be vital in helping us to find the time to spend with our family and friends. The profession you are in is irrelevant, because time management is sometime we can all benefit from.

Time management is something that many of us find very challenging and we often fail to overcome it efficiently day to day. Freelancers will be very familiar with the importance of this across all industries. Those of us who have been in a normal job environment know how much easier it is when the boss is dishing out the orders.

When your completely independent, with no boss, it then becomes a challenge to prioritize, especially with all of the day to day activities which need to be maintained. Client deadlines and an absence of social support can make things a little tricky.

If we set and maintained goals everyday, it would actually make our working day a lot easier. It is always good to write them down, either on paper or digitally. There are even goal setting programmes you can use to aid you in this process of achievement.

Many of us spend plenty of time each week simply browsing/finding and thinking about things which are actually taking us away from our goals. We often say we need more time, but in actual fact we need to learn to optimize our time. We need to make best use of the hours we already have in a working day.

If you have not already done so, it would be a good idea to investigate some type of CRM (Customer Relations Management System). This sort of system allows you to save any type of database information, from emails to sales leads. There are some good free alternatives to the popular commercial programs out there.

If your a freelancer and you are on a tight budget, then it helps to store as much information as possible online, or on your system. Try and avoid printing lots of information, as paper & ink cost money, but saving information on a hard-drive dose not. It is also quicker to retrieve information if it is saved in digital format, as long as you have a secure system.
