Colloidal silver can have potentially positive results when used, but there is little evidence to show this and many products that have been tested either show no benefit or they show potential harm. Labels can lie and when it comes to manufacturers of silver colloid products, it has become so common place that people just believe what the labels say. Ionic silver is often falsely packaged as a silver colloid, but it is not and it does not react the same way to the body as a true colloidal silver product would.
When confronted about the mislabeling of their products, some of the manufacturers believe that since the lie has been so widely accepted, that it can use the wrong label. Beyond this, some manufacturers capitalize on the idea that people want to try out a colloidal silver product to gain the potential benefits, but instead sell products that do not even contain silver.
